| Boyer’s Diamond & Gold Source was started in 1987 out of frustration. The founder, Dr. J. H. Boyer, only seemed to be able to find two types of stores as he shopped for jewelry. First, was the store with low prices and low quality to go along with it. The second type of store carried much nicer merchandise but the prices were normally astronomical.
After much deliberation, Dr. Boyer decided to open a store that carried fine jewelry at a very moderate mark-up. His reasons were two fold. First, it would be a much better deal for the customer so they would return again and again as well as telling their friends. Secondly, Boyer’s would sell a much higher volume and in the long run it would be best for the business. In other words, low mark-up with high volume equals a win-win situation for everyone. |
